9. dasein

there's a world somewhere out there in equilibrium

and on that world a morning dew rising to meet the sun

rivers, mountains, forests, seas, thriving and alive

a people with a purpose beyond monetizing time

families and neighbors all comfy and content

bars, churches, theaters not under threat of violence

a world in the distance, can you see it there

it is a world we could call our own, but you do have to care

please folks, come back to life

there's so much we were meant to do, but then we all died

I don't know how, I don't know when, I don't think it's important

because you and I, we've got the space, we've got the time and

yes there's transportation that don't undermine itself

there's ways to manage resources that don't pander to wealth

there's cities we could live in that don't incubate crime

ways to feed the masses that don't holocaust bovine

there's means to economy that don't root in despair

there's ways to live a life that's free, without living impaired

of course there is technology far less insidious

and yes you can turn the tide, without turning on your kids

please folks, meet me on the other side

all of us dead to shame, junkies running dry

evil living backward living loud, telling lies

stoic slow to forgiveness, dying to stay alive

there's a world somewhere out there in equilibrium

and in the world a couple curled and cuddled out of the sun

novels, poems, paintings, plays- not propaganda

a people wholly unwilling to be made fools of

there's comrades and compatriots, knowledgeable and kind

very little reason anyone would lose their mind

a world in the distance, not at all far from here

a world we might call our own, but you do have to be there
